「神健」是个在路边修车勉强维生的修理工，然而大部分都被认为是个路边的骗子。有一天，神健遇到了花钱不眨眼的「杰伊克」，为了可以保住这个「贵客」，神健在修车时动了个手脚，只为了让杰伊克的车几天后自己故障，然后再次找自己修车。原以为自己抓到了一只肥羊，然而知道杰伊克与危险的事件有关联后，一心只想摆脱杰伊克的神健却越是挣扎越是无法摆脱⋯。Subjects of Desire is a thought provoking film that examines the cultural shift in beauty standards towards embracing (or appropriating) Black aesthetics and features, deconstructing what we understand about race and the power behind beauty.。
