There's one of every character in the book: the good guy, the bad guy, the local sheriff, the lovely damsel, her father the old professor, etc. The scene where we're looking for the first time through ...。少女吉川薰（野波麻帆 饰）与哥哥刚（松岡俊介 饰）亲密无间，有如恋人一般。某天，吉川刚神秘失踪，薰在公寓内找到一封来自高中同学宫守泉（柴咲コウ 饰）写给哥哥的情书。泉当初暗恋刚，却因薰的关系而受挫败。种种迹象表明，吉川刚很可能前往了泉的家乡——不来彼方村。这个有着怪异名字的村子流传着同样怪异的风俗，人们相信死者的灵魂会附在稻草人上，所以村民将稻草人插在亲人的墓前，久而久之，稻草人的脸就会逐渐转化为死者的脸。 为寻找哥哥，薰最终来到这个古怪的村子，等待她的是…… 本片根据日本漫画家伊藤润二同名恐怖漫画改编。。
