蒙冤的青年人偶然开始一段跌宕起伏、惊险连连的盲流生活。爱情、友情和恩情相交织，在茫茫的大西北一一上演。 蒙冤入狱的复员转业军人史岱年在从江苏押往青海的路上，跳下火车，开始了大西北的盲流生活。途中，他与甘肃姑娘曲豆妹相遇，两人结伴而行，不料却因被盲流管理人员抓走而分手。在“盲管所”中，史岱年认识了从河南逃荒来的老盲流崔连登。他怂恿小史开一辆车逃走，可自己却死在了路上。还好沙石厂的盲流工人老铁头救了他。一天，老铁头被逼债的人打伤，临死前，他向史岱年讲述了自己的坎坷经历，原来他就是豆妹的父亲。史岱年平反后找到了豆妹，决定把自己永远的献给豆妹和大西北。。Meeting Jim is a feature length documentary about a journey back to the lifetime of Jim Haynes, an extraordinary 83-year-old man who grabbed with heart and soul the spirit of the 60s and continued to carry it throughout his life.
