They two are very different: one poor, the other one is rich, one of them writes music and sings, the other one cannot hear or speak… They are united by love for each ...。“送王船”是闽南沿海村落中人们祈求国泰民安、风调雨顺的一种民间习俗。在钟宅每四年举办一届，2012年农历十月，一场空前浩大的“送王船”仪式在钟宅上演。本片以“造王船”和“送王船”为贯穿始终的主线：村民们卜选头家，为“送王船”争相出资出力，造船老工匠苦寻传承人，王船建造过程中接二连三出现意外，令人倍感压力。。三个想考进六扇门当“公务员”捕快的小人物，因考场黑幕考试失败。他们偶然接到护送朝廷要犯回京的任务，完成任务就可破例进入六扇门，于是他们开始了护送之旅。途中得知朝廷要犯的身份为当今皇上，而且同时有多方势力追杀皇上，他们需要运用智慧和高强的武艺将皇上安全护送回京。。
