故事叙述有一位年约十三岁的男孩 Cody，他不但是学校出色的游泳健将，更有一个永远爱他、支持他的家庭，日子过的可说是非常如意，但是不料一切却在他十三岁生日前夕有了变化， Cody 发现他的身体似乎变得有一些不寻常，因为在他碰到水以后，皮肤居然会长起了和鱼一般的鳞片！经过他苦苦询问之下才发现，原来当初他是父母在海岸边捡回的弃婴，并非亲生的。而到后来 Cody 才发现，原来他的亲生母亲是一条美人鱼，所以 Cody 到了青春期才会有这些不同於常人的生理变化，而他的母亲更一直都在海岸边守候，冒著被其他恶人发现追捕的危险，依然希望有天 Cody 能够与她一同重返大海...。A psychological drama taking place during a day and a night in the life of a young family living in a beautiful house by the sea in the village of Sandur in the Faroe Islands.
